However, I am glad to state, all misgivings I had were immediately dispelled. Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t one of the finest flicks ever made, and in a lot of ways it fails to even come close to the likes of Independence Day, which in my opinion is one of the very best flicks of its type ever made. It does however, provide a much more up-close-and-personal aspect to an alien invasion. It is really more like observing a war filmed in Iraq or something, but that in itself is the thing that separates it from a muddle of recent alien invasion pictures that doesn’t ignite any kind of fire in the mind.
